He'd been putting it off. He knew he had to talk to Apollo. There wasn't any other way to deal with the situation. He could keep on denying his own past, but if he did that, he was never going to be useful to the team again. And that was something he knew he couldn't take. Making the decision hadn't been easy. He didn't want to cause his friend distress, after all. But neither could he continue to open his eyes every morning with the knowledge that he was alive simply because he was too afraid to find out just what it would take to actually kill him.
He didn't believe in God, but he didn't believe in coincidence, either. The encounter with his alternate may have been an accident, but it was also a wake-up call.
Which was why he found himself standing outside Apollo's door. Knowing that it was a probably a bad idea to simply walk inside, he knocked instead.
