Hello 2010

Jan 01, 2010 01:11

I have no hard feelings about 2009. It was an okay year for me. Let's have a dumb year by first line of every month meme:

January: This isn't really a New Year's resolution.
February: The first season (26 episodes) of Alfred J. Kwak has been relesed on DVD in Finland.
March: I think my pigtails and Manhunt t-shirt together may not be sending altogether the right message about me...
April: I've been a member of customers_suck for years, and for some time now I've been watching the growing list of rules - list of OHNOYOUDON'TS, more like - with amusement, wondering how long it's going to take until either the mods realize how ridiculous they're getting, or the members realize maybe a new comm with different mods is in order.
May: I have some Dreamwidth invite codes now!
June: I love Bacardi Breezers, but I'm just gonna have to make do without them now.
July: [empty]
August: [empty]
September: [empty]
October: [empty]
November: Hello DW. Hello LJ.
December: You know you're a lost cause... ...when you think "I'm still sane because I don't find him hot in a mullet."

So I missed a third of the year on LJ! Go me. Well, I missed writing entries for a third of the year, I was always here reading. It wasn't a too eventful year really. But there are three things, here in chronological order - and also in order of causality - that were awesome as all hell.

1. In late May, I moved to a slightly bigger apartment and got a new computer. Jinx (so named to hopefully confuse any computer-breaky demons) enabled me to get into PC gaming again, most importantly Guild Wars, and I then gathered my courage and...

2. Was welcomed into the Blinkie Ponie Armie [BPA], a Guild Wars guild made up of current and former LiveJournal volunteers, all of whom I knew to some extent from before. And you guys were the best thing that happened to me in the entire year. <3 From the cracky IRC channel to the roflstompy outings and being sent to hell, you are so awesome. And MOST IMPORTANTLY...

3. Was introduced to a band called Tokio Hotel. I always thought Bill Kaulitz was beautiful, for what I'd seen of him, but because of certain ponies, I finally got around to hearing the music. I believe the first words out of my mouth were "why did you not make me listen to this before?" (The next words were a great deal more embarrassing, yet still documented in someone's LJ.) They got me, hook, line and sinker, and I decided to just give in and allow myself to be a complete and utter teenager in regards to TH. This band has made me immensely happy in the past few months, and for the life of me I can't explain WHY. But I have decided I don't really care why, as long as they're there and I have my fangirl buddies - the Blinkie Kaulitz Armie - to squee with. (I keep meaning to do a long post with lots of picspam and some babbling about what appeals to me in TH and the Kaulitzes. One of these days.)

Yeah also if you wish to disown me for loving Tokio Hotel, you better do it now. Not planning on stopping that any time soon. (Although you may wish to first check your pre-conceived notions of them at the door and try a bit.)

Yeah so. 2010. Have a good one. Start it off with a little pattycake.
