Well, today I went to the supermarket and I was waiting online at the deli and I heard some foreign woman refer to bologna as "BOE-LAG-NEE". I didn't laugh or anything, but I started thinking maybe we're the idiots mispronouncing so many words invented throughout the world. If that's the case then we should be laughed at. Nope.

Its pronounced "fish."

"gh" like in laughing
"o" like in women
"ti" like in contraction.

MINE-strohn is a popular soup at my job. I actually once said that something would SUFF-iss, and...erm...if you're English, it isn't strange to you that Towcester is pronounced "toaster".
