I know that studies have shown sleep deprivation not to cause anybody any long-lasting harm.... but seriously, if I don't get any soon, I might be the cause of somebody else's long-lasting harm ( Read more... )

Have you ever tried red tea. Rooibos tea from Africa. I told Deeol
about it as she has lots of insomnia. I hate insomnia. Usually when I am stressed about something it keeps me awake. Red tea is also full of antioxidants so it is good for you also.

I remember having Rooibos when I was out in Africa. I was always able to sleep out there - but I think it was more to do with all the hard manual work I did each day.

Mind you, I've been up since 9am this morning (after getting to sleep at 6) and have done kick boxing fitness classes and such.

Why can't I sleep?

I'm not stressed. A little depressed maybe, but not stressed.
Also quite poorly with some evil flu which I would give ANYTHING to sleep through.

Well, yes. That is it. When I went through my terrible depression that lasted almost a year, I never slept at all. My daughter pulled me through it as she has suffered from depression off and on her whole life. But, I can remember my mind just would not shut off, and I would cry through the night. You are maybe going to have to see a specialist and get a prescription. Which is who my internist was going to refer me to but then it lifted. I will do anything to keep from going back to that black pit. Normal insomnia red tea will help. But maybe not this. Maybe a checkup is in order. Could you take a break at Easter and see your doctor at home? Gosh, I hope I can sleep tonight. This has been a very stressful day.
