I'll be buying it next pay day! But not the Australian release, which seems to be retailing at $55!

oh btw, I'm probably also going to grab a copy of Volcano High and Princess Blade while I'm at it. I assume you'd be interested in attending a group viewing?

Volcano High I have not heard of and so would be keen to see. I tried watching Princess Blade. Really. I tried. *shudder*. Who knows, with other people to heckle it I might manage more than a few minutes.

Volcano High is a lot of fun. It's hilarious, but thankfully its hilarious in that we're trying to be funny and succeeding way rather than being so lame its funny...

I'll let you know when I get it, am currently trying to track down a copy of the Korean DVD release which has the most retained scenes.

*chokes*

eXistenZ was the worst movie I have ever seen. I'd liken it to being forced to watch Leonardo Di Caprio in Titanic over and over for 7 days without sleep.

wow. and you have seen titanic (something i have so far avoided).

personally, i liked it - overacting and all. it has a couple of actors i like (Jude Law and Willem Dafoe), the conceit was reasonably well presented and the pacing was good.

i mention it here simply because Avalon has elements of game vs reality blurring that are similar. in eXistenZ it is fundamental to the plot and so thrust in your face. in Avalon, while being as essential to the story, it is implied, suggested and hinted at. it is only really directly confronted in the final scenes and the 'conclusion' drawn far different and more elegant.

Yes I saw titanic, but only because I was too drunk to walk home from UniMovies and I had already forked over my $2.50 to see it and the movie before it.

I guess that's the masochist in me having a bit of a laugh.

He he.

Fair enough. Anyway, I am biased. Movies and computer game playing just aren't my thing.

Is that what you ended up watching last night? I tried calling you, but couldn't get through to your mobile, so I ended up just wandering home.
