I usually use this time for writing. But, no laptop and no notebook makes it harder....

I have sometimes used loose paper - back of a handout or leaflet? Hotel writing-paper? This assumes you have a pen.

I more or less combined all suggestions by acquiring complimentary paper from reception and using it to write mildly pornographic poetry. :D

*grin* I have a total of 10 hours to kill over the next two days even assuming I sleep eight hours a night, which I won't. It will kill some time, but 10 hours...?

More! Harder! Faster! Or, actually, possibly slower would be better…

I am so helpful.

Does the place you are staying have a complementary pen/pencil or pad of paper, or any shops nearby where you could purchase a cheap set thereof? I find 'drawing stuff' is my activity-of-last-resort and can usually be achieved somehow.

Look up the lyrics of the Dalesman's litany, and if your data contract allows, you can even listen to it.

We did a project on it in music in our school in Barnsley and I still have a certain fondness for it.

Hmm... 10 minutes out of 10 hours sorted!
