Ha! Thats awesome. Katherine with a "K" actually looks a lot more like Maude after she is at Green Gables for a fortnight and wears her hair looser. Only thing is, there is a "saving something" about Maude's eyes and lips...she actually looks dreamy and peaceful; lost in one of her imaginings. I'm not sure if Katherine ever did something like that in her whole life.
quite a resemblance there, no doubt. i wonder if kevin sullivan meant to do that. her books were largely autobiographical, right? perhaps he saw a piece of l.m. in catherine...?
i'm reading her journals right now and she's raging about how people keep thinking her books are based on her life... and then she admits to things that are similar.
i think it's just that the actress and maude have heavy lidded eyes and round glasses are kind of the fashion of the time?
her journals are published??? i never knew that. amazon, here i come... again.
perhaps it was just a fashion thing. i dunno. sometimes directors have their own agendas, though, in casting films. well, most of the time, actually. he may have thought that was a cool idea.
i even know the SCENE with the "katherine w/a 'k'" dialogue, and i forgot it! for shame. i need to brush up on my anne trivia.
they are. i'm not sure if all the volumes are. there are some things about people being alive that she says bad things about that has been delaying some of the publishing. i only have the 1st 3 volumes but i know there are more.
i've heard that he made the 3rd movie how it was because he didn't think that a modern audience would find the books the way they are at all interesting... which is silly. and it makes me lose a lot of my trust in his directorial decisions.
i had a 5th grade teacher who also liked l. m. montgomery and one time he accidentally spelled her name without an e and i got so upset.
i've been noticing it for awhile, now, but reading her journals and seeing all the pictures in there, and then watching the movie... i had to tell someone!
