1. Rowling said that Tonks and Lupin died because she didn't kill Arthur Weasley in book five--when I heard that, I decided immediately that I WOULD NOT HAVE MINDED.
2. I was caught totally off guard with the Snape/Lily thing--ESPECIALLY because when I got the book at the midnight release, there were these tweens talking about how it ~must be true~ and I laughed my ass off. AND THEN IT WAS.
3. ...I honestly don't remember the final battle. huh.
4. Rowling has also said that she wrote the epilogue years ago. Like. When she said she'd written the first and last chapters at the same time? That was what she meant. Only she didn't self-edit and think, "Gee, I've written this beautiful masterpiece of children's literature with rich language and beautiful prose, this epilogue does not have the same tone and is kind of crap."
All that aside, I really did love the book a lot ;______________; I just pretend Tonks and Lupin didn't die :D
1.) I like Mr. Weasley, I do... but I would've rather have had him die than Tonks and Lupin. I mean, THEY JSUT HAD A BABY. To me, it was almost like she was paving the way for Teddy to be THE BOY WHO LIVED, THE NEXT GEN. -_- Lily and James died, Tonks and Lupin died... -_

1.) I was really expecting one of the MAIN characters to die. I thought Harry was doomed from the start. But he didn't, and instead other characters died in what seemed like a "Well, someone has to die, so I'll pick ones that the readers will be sad about" lol

1.) I really think it would've been better if one of the main characters died.. preferably Ginny or Harry because then that awful epilogue wouldn't have been able to exist. LOL. But in all seriousness, there were so many unneeded deaths. Like Hedwig. POOR THING. I MEAN, OUT BY CHAPTER THREE and not a GOOD death either. "OH CRAP, BIRDIE HIT THE DASHBOARD, BAI BAI

I forgot Hedwig died... is that how it happened? :( awww. The ending was realllyyyyyyyyy bad, imo. She could have handled it much better. It's a great series, and she can obviously WRITE. I think if someone that hasn't seen any of the movies or read any of the other books read the last one, they'd probably think the whole series was shit... and probably put that right next to the Twilight series lol.
I've heard that she put in the epilogue so fanfiction writers couldn't write about "after the series" plotlines, and nobody could release anything else. I don't know how true that is, but I think it may have worked out that way for all the wrong reasons!
