I actually got about 1000 words of Western Skies done. Holy shit. Yes, seeing the new movie helped, like I hoped it would. While I do have some issues with certain things, and I'm happily head-canoning some bits while pretending a few very specific things didn't happen, I'm happily breaking the ice with my fic reading, and hopefully, it'll help me

Glad to hear it! I re-read Western Skies at least once every year, sometimes more often. And I totally agree with you. The new movie has been great at inspiring me too on my own ST fics that have been lanquishing on my desktop.

I'm still ignoring the sad attempt of Spock/Uhura, which never made sense to me. And I've been pulled to the dark side by Benedict playing Kahn. I like Kahn now with Kirk as well, as Kirk with Spock and even occassionally Kirk with Bones.

Uh...I'm rambling. So, I'll just restate that I am glad to hear you are writing it again.
