Georgette Heyer is the mostest

You may laugh, but she is my big discovery this winter -- yes, the woman whose books are still published with those embarrassing pink and purple Harlequin romance covers.  She's such a wonderful storyteller, so totally charming, so clever.  Her prose is neither wildly original nor at all memorable, but her characters are, and so are some of their ( Read more... )

I love Georgette Heyer! She has a series of mysteries too - and there is one called "A Blunt Instrument" that is, in my humble opinion, THE perfectly plotted crime novel.

Yay, I have "A Blunt Instrument" out from the library! I love the fact that she succeeded so well in two genres.
