And the goodness just keeps on giving! Today I got a bill from the Washtenaw County Sherrif's Department for $400.00. Seems they bill you $10.00 for every day you're in jail. So on top of their "admin fees" taking about $50 the day I got out, now there's this. I was jailed for not having enough money to pay, and now they're billing me for that!

Will they make you pay to be in gaol, for not being able to pay for being in gaol, for not having enough money in the first place?

I do NOT understand this idea. I can see making convicted rapists and arsonists work to pay their way through prison, but I don't understand how billing people who are in jail for payment issues is going to improve anything.
