'k, so new 320GB Seagate drives arrived this morning. The 160GB Maxtor SATA which was AWOL turns out to have been a connection issue, as it's back again and apparently working OK. It'd benefit from a longer SATA cable, it's almost at full stretch due to the case design and mobo design ( Read more... )

I'll have a trawl through the bios again. I'd have thought there'd be an option for it - I don't think windows gets to decide such things.

yer not wrong, there was a HDD list, putting the appropriate drive at the top fixed it.
