The 4 machines I'm leaving running 24/7 over the break plus the BFOswitch, router and backup use less than 300W/hr between them on normal load. If I use 7kW/day I'd be surprised and some of them are not new models.

I reckon they are using PSU rated supply to get 300W and not the load anyway.

could well be. Mine's a 380W Earthwatts, which makes for better power factor than some of the cheapo ones.
