Glad to hear the Minor's on the road now. Bleeping shame about the bank though; it's about time the PTB gave them some less-than-gentle encouragement to lend more easily to small businesses.
Is the Merc diesel or petrol? I understand they're quite solid machines, so should last well once the welding's done.
Trouble with banks is, they have a nasty habit of wanting their money back. Wretchedly unfair of them if you ask me. No wonder none of us have got two beans to rub together muttermuttergrumble.
I wondered, because Merc have done quite a few upmarket diesels these days, and I thought that might have been one of them.
If I could have any Merc I wanted, I'd like one of the early (pre-'73) 3-litre diesel estates, preferably manual. Not practical now, as I don't have the necessary spondulicks either to buy it or to keep it fed with parts, but it'd tick all the boxes for me; long legs, plenty of grunt, especially low down, reasonable fuel consumption, no engine electronics, no rubber valve gear, no sparks to mess up the mobile radio reception, no tax, and a nice solid build.
