This Journal Is 'Friends Only'

Sorry, my journal isn't open for the public to read.

There's nothing terribly interesting in here, but if you're really want to read my ramblings, leave me a comment here telling me a little about you. We can go from there.

And don't spam me to join your stupid community. Even if it's about something I list as an interest, I'm not interested and ( Read more... )

I was looking through your brewing pics and I've been intrigued by limoncello ever since i heard it described in Under the Tuscan Sun. How did that turn out?

The limoncello turned out really well. It's good by itself. It's good mixed in drinks that call for citrus-y flavors and vodka. I've given about half of it away as gifts and am trying hard to hang on to the rest of it for an icy cold treat during the hot summer! (Of course, contrary to what's mentioned in the recipe, it doesn't stay liquid in the freezer.)

Did it freeze all the way through or just get to a slush consistency?

I'm going to have to try that recipe. . .

It froze solid after a few days but luckily didn't break the glass bottle that it was in. I put it in the fridge after that. :-D

Hi.
I saw you comment over at platypus' journal.
Counterproductively, I'm not sure how to summarise myself, in such a way as to sound a) interesting or b) trustworthy. I bake my own bread by hand, and I enjoy cooking in an amateur sort of way, plus am a nerd, so what caught my eye were your mentions of cooking and canning + gadgets and astronomy. Also, we have "rain" as a mutual interest.

Sounds like we have a few things in common! I've added you and look forward to getting to know you. :-)

Heh. Tell you something about me and "we'll go from there"? I feel like I'm on a dating website. Um I like long walks on the beach and potato salad...

Mustard potato salad or German potato salad?

General rule. No mustard 42dirtygirl January 9 2006, 04:38:42 UTC
But for a gramma I bend the rule. Each one makes it different, one with mustard and peas ((peas!)) and one with mayo room temp loaded with egg. I prefer it latter.

Peas? WTF?!
