3. Aftermath of Shroomfield (backlogged to November 17th)

Nov 23, 2011 22:56

1. 1130 Taylor Road

[Bazett woke up with the mother of all headaches. This was understandable, as she had just come off a mushroom induced, emotionally and physically draining hallucinatory drug high. Then she had fallen asleep in her basement next to a hallucinating girl that she had dragged home.]

[Speaking of the girl, she was gone by this time. ( Read more... )

Bazett.

You don't need to shout.

[She lets out a sigh of relief. He seems alright. That fight against him had been a hallucination after all. She's just glad he seems to have gotten through this hallucinatory mushroom fiasco unscathed.]

BUT HOW WOULD YOU HEAR ME IF I DIDN'T? THE RECEIVER ON THIS THING IS SO THIN. CAN MY VOICE REALLY GET THROUGH?

[Nevertheless, her voice is just a little bit quieter.]

ARE YOU OKAY? DID YOU EAT ANY OF THE PURPLE MUSHROOMS? THEY MAKE YOU HALLUCINATE BADLY.

I can hear you fine, quit yelling in my ear!

[Owowowowowow.]

No, I didn't.

...I'll never understand human technology.

[This is still a little too loud, but she has stopped yelling.]

That's great.

[Now that she thinks about it, her worries are a bit silly. Lancer is a hero--he would know better than to eat oddly colored mushrooms. Even if he did, then it was unlikely that he would fall prey to their effects.]

What about your master? Has she eaten any of them? If she has, then has she recovered?

[She does not want to tell him about her own experiences with said mushrooms. For one thing, it was embarrassing. Also, it would make him worry needlessly since by now, her body had expelled most of the poison.]

[To be honest, she heard it from her house first, and almost dropped whatever that she was holding once she realizes just what this was about.

Ooooh god. She COULD just go to the house personally, but let's make it less awkward and use the phone to reply back--

...

--No. Blue hair is already incriminatory. She can only hope that this call has been ignored by the majority of the town. Her priority now, is to alter this woman's memory so that she forgets about the encounter last night. And for that purpose, she has to meet her face to face.

Having decided on such, Ciel will assure that she's in perfect Mayfield wife wear before crossing over to knock the door at 1130. Wearing glasses and of much cheerier and energetic demeanor, that very image should be good to dissociate whatever Bazett saw of her the other night.]

[Bazett opens the door to see...the girl from last night, or at least someone who looks very much like her ( ... )

Ah... Excuse me? I am sorry for interrupting so suddenly, ma'am, but we've never met. I was just able to hear your phonecall from my house because we're neighbors, so I came to let you know that you're most likely not using the telephone properly. [The light surprise in her face and voice look very genuine, and staring directly into Bazett's eyes, she is going to user her Mystic Eyes to lead the other woman into believing the same thing.] But hallucinations... Do you mean what was going on before, when many people in town were behaving strangely? [Pushing up her glasses, she asks with lively curiosity.]

[Bazett can feel the foreign prana invading her mind. Her instincts as a mage snap into effect and she attempts to fight the influence. However, given that she is human right now, her efforts are ultimately futile and she succumbs in a matter of seconds ( ... )

[Kiritsugu would like to gather a little more info before doing something like that, but it won't help to have someone asking for him.]

[He will, however, wait until late in the day. He has no intentions of explaining his role as a magus killer to Tohsaka or her Servant.]

[He's just going to wait outside after ringing the doorbell, convincing himself that this isn't such a bad idea since Bazett's currently allied with Ilya.]

[Bazett jumps a little bit after hearing the sudden noise. She looks around the room, trying to figure out where it came from. After searching for a while, she finally realizes it came from the direction of the door. She cautiously heads to the door and opens it a tiny crack.]

Yes?

[She can see Emiya through the crack, so she opens the door wide enough to let him in. She is relieved that at least her meeting with him was not a hallucination. It would have been even more embarrassing if the entire town had heard her screaming for a person that was not there.]

Emiya, I am glad to see you here.

[Though her expression does not change, her voice still sounds a little embarrassed.]

I-I apologize for my behavior last night. It seems I was not in my right state of mind... It seems you are not a crossdresser after all...[The last sentence is muttered under her breath. She hopes that he did not hear it ( ... )

It's called a 'doorbell'. Creates a sound through electricity. Easier than knocking. Louder.

[Having abused the average lack of technology in the magic community before, Kiritsugu doesn't mind explaining this, gesturing towards the button as he does so. What does confuse him is the 'crossdressing' comment, silent as it may have been. When dealing with magi (hunters of them, even more so), Kiritsugu turns all of his senses to 100%, convinced that even the slightest slip-up will kill him.]

[...He knew the drugs had an effect on her, but this wasn't quite what he had in mind. N-No use in dwelling on that. He clears his throat.]

Did you need anything?

Human technology has indeed progressed fast...

[She's more than a little embarrassed about one of her seniors finding out about her lack of experience with human technology.]

Yes, something edible, preferrably spicy. In light of my experience with the mushrooms, I have thrown out all the food in my house because I was unsure whether it was edible or not.

Of course, I do not intend to rely on your charity for more than this one time. Do you know anywhere in this town that I purchase more food? I am afraid I can no longer rely on my drone husband to do the shopping.

[Not if it included more dubious food items.]
