1. Arrival
[Bazett Fraga McRemitz wakes up with a start. Her head is heavy and her body feels strange in a way that she can't put her finger on.]

What happened?

[A quick look around tells her that this isn't her Japanese hotel room. For one thing, it's too large and the furnishings are completely different. For ( Read more... )

[ And that's when she's confronted with a monster. Or something close to it, by her standards. A man some 8 feet tall, riding along on a tremendous motorcycle the size of a small car, with two immense, cannon-like weapons jutting from the prow. And man is a very loose term. More like an armore-encased giant, from head to foot clad in gray plate that looks purposefully defaced and cleaned of all iconography, though there is still remnants of a mark of an old magical symbol, the Egyptian eye, the eye of Horus, near the center plastron. ]

Something the matter, Mamzel? [ Booms a too deep for human voice, washed through external augmitters and sounding rather static-filled. ]

[Bazett stares at the monstrous man for a little bit and then turns away toward the direction of the card that she sensed. This man is not her main priority--the card is. If he proves dangerous, then she would have to come back and deal with him later.]

I have no business with you.

[She hopes that the man will not attempt to make trouble for her. She needs to apprehend the card as soon as possible.]

[ He removes his helmet, the horsehair plumed helm locked to the side of his waist a moment later. His face is a craggy, pale thing, handsome in a rough way, though given to some nigh-equine gigantism because of the gross gene-manipulation that has been done to make him into an Angel of Death. ]

Perhaps not... but you look new. Or at the very least confused. Are you unfamiliar with this place? [ His voice is still inhumanly deep, but there is a human quality to it now. Worry? Empathy? Concern? ]

[She pauses. The man appears to be offering to help her. She is unsure whether or not she should accept. She wishes that she had a way to contact her superiors so they could instruct her on the right decision.

[However, the man seems to have no agressive intentions, so she decides to respond to his question. Hopefully, this will not take too long. She still has to deal with the card.]

Yes, I am unfamiliar with this place. I would assume that you have been here longer than I?

[Well, this is a new face.]

I take it you've had a long day.

[Bazett glances at the man and decides to try to ignore him. However, he seems to be expecting a reply and she decides that to refuse to give him even a short answer would be inappropriate.]

You could say that.

How about a drink or two? First one is on the house.

No, but thank you.

[She'll buy her own drinks.]

[And here is your friendly neighborhood Servant bartender, completely unaware of what is about to happen.]

Yo, what can I get-...you...

[No way. No way. How could she--after all this time, now she came back?]

...Bazett?

[So this is the source of the strange, persistent feeling that she had ever since she came to this place. Her usual card sensing skills were shot--this feeling was no more than a hunch. But it seems likely to be a card. After all, only class cards could twist the fabric of reality to create pocket universes ( ... )

Wh...wait, hang on, what the hell is a Class Card?! You don't recognize me?!

I recognize your form, but enough of the nonsense. Disengage from your card and hand it over. Resistance will be futile. I will not repeat myself a second time.

[Even as she speaks, her body tenses, ready to attack at any minute. Not only is the man sentient, but he seems to be playing mind games with her.]

[She's mildly shocked when she sees Tohsaka running up. It turns into annoyance when Tohsaka appears to be displaying the same behavior as many of the other people she has encountered in this town.]

Tohsaka. What are you doing? I have been looking for you. If you can recall, I still have matters to discuss with you.

The Cards, Tohsaka. I want to know if you have a plan yet for dealing with the eighth card. My superior, Father Kotomine instructed me to listen to your plan and Edelfelt's plan and then report back to him. He will then take your plans into consideration and draw up a plan of action for the two of us. Depending on his decision, I may or many not remain allied with the two of you. However, in light of this crisis, I believe he will not order me to enter into conflict with either of you until the Eighth card is subdued.

[The dog is distracting. For one thing, it's too cute. She does her best to stay focused on her mission, but still feels the urge to pay attention, if only a little, to the dog.]

Where is Edelfelt? And where are your three apprentices? Why are you not with them?
