1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
* study in Japan
* have surgery
* went to the baseball
* Hey! Say! Jump! concert! lol.
* was a witness in court
* assumed a fake identity to rescue some dogs
* went to Aomori and ate these scallops that were so delicious they made me cry. I've never actually cried over food before! Oh man, they were so good I almost cry just thinking about them.

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can't recall making any, to be honest. For 2013 I would like to write every day.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Do fictional characters count? If not, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
Japan.

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
Good health!

7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 4 - moved to Japan
Sept 11 - had surgery

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting As in all my subjects even though I had mid-semester surgery.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Having to come home from Japan early because I was sick and therefore not getting any credit for all of semester 1.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No injuries... though the year hasn't ended yet so I should be wary!

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Waku Waku Gakkou tickets... or maybe my kindle.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I don't really understand this question. My sister was very helpful while I was in recovery from my surgery but I don't know if that really merits celebration.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My doctor in Japan who told me I wasn't sick and it was all in my head. What a prick!

14. Where did most of your money go?
This is a question I am also asking myself.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Waku Waku Gakkou!

16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
Wild at Heart by Arashi and We are Young by Fun.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? same, I think.
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter. too many m&ms + surgery = fat ant.
iii. richer or poorer? way poorer

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Writing. Reading. Other brain-improvement-type activities.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Studying Japanese. Eating m&ms.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Went to karaoke with my sister and sang Arashi songs til my voice gave out completely.

21. How will you be spending New Year’s?
Watching Kohaku, drinking virgin mojitos and making sure my dog doesn't freak out too much at all the fireworks.

22. Did you fall in love in 2012?
At least three times, maybe more.

23. How many one-night stands?
0.

24. What was your favorite TV program(s)?
All the Arashi shows obvs, Merlin, Game of Thrones, Sherlock. Oh, and The Borgias was pretty awesome. I think all the j/k-dramas I watched were pretty average. Oh, Rooftop Prince, I'd totally forgotten that! That was pretty good.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No.

26. What was the best book you read?
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time by Mark Haddon. It may well be the best book I've read ever, actually.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Mumford & Sons, maybe?

28. What did you want and get?
Waku Waku Gakkou tickets.

29. What did you want and not get?
Arashi concert tickets. A summer onesie.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
I went to the baseball - Giants vs Marines in Chiba and then to the Aiba restaurant for dinner and then karaoke. It was a pretty awesome birthday!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Good health.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
The Soda Fountain dress from modcloth

34. What kept you sane?
Arashi.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Nino. And sometimes Jang Keun Suk but only when he had the pretty hair.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Japan vs Korea.

37. Who did you miss?
My dog.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
These guys my sister and I randomly met on the street in Shibuya and who tried to help up find this nightclub where we were supposed to meet our friends, and then took us to the Antonio Inoki restaurant the night before we left Japan and did Antonio Inoki impersonations with us and bought us lovely going away presents.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012:
If you don't have your health, you don't have anything!

One day soon I am going to make an awesome post about Arafes but I think I will need to take screencaps first to properly express my feelings!
