[The feed turns on. And it's silent, for a long time. There are only a few indications that there's someone on the line. There's static- the hands that hold the nexus are unsteady. Whoever is holding it has to set it down on the bed. There's shuffling. Someone taking a long breath. Then finally, Sora speaks. ]

Riku's gone...

[A long, heavy silence

[Forget his tiredness when a friend needs him- he's running down the hall to the mentioned room number, only pausing outside the door to get his breath.]

[When Ven stands in the doorway, both Sora and Riku are sitting on the floor. Riku's leaning against the bed, head hanging limp like he's fallen asleep. Sora's facing him an arm's length away. He looks lost.]

[Riku's gone... a small part of him shatters, at that. Riku; they'd only spoken a few days ago. The older teen had told him that he could live his own life here, and given him hope. He didn't have to disappear here, he could get to know Sora, others, and live-]

[But apparently Riku couldn't.]

Sora... [His voice is choked, it takes him a moment to think of what he's actually going to say, and this- shouldn't hurt as much.]

[Riku, gone.]

Stay there. I'll come help you.

[He's off his bed and into the apartment beside his own in seconds, not even worrying to knock as he makes his way into the bedroom. He keeps his eyes on Sora, rather than- anywhere else.]

[When Roxas comes in, Riku's sitting on the floor, leaned up against the bed. Sora is kneeling beside him, like he doesn't know what to do with himself.]

[ Oh. Oh man. He remembers you as the really bubbly kid. Seeing Sora all beat up like this must be something really bad. And... Riku... his really close friend?

There's a look of pained sympathy in his eyes. ]

Sora, right?

You need help there?

[Voice]

We need to take him down. If we put him into stasis fast enough we can -- there's a chance we can reverse some of the damage while all his systems are down.

[Words can't help Sora's friend, so he falls silent for a moment after that.]
