a) i agree on hot dogs.
b) you can get perfectly good pizza outside of chicago -- it's just not deep-dish.
c) philly trumps chicago on steak sandwiches any day of the week. italian beef is a sad, sad substitute for a cheesesteak. :)

I didn't say you couldn't get good pizza outside of Chicago- I'm saying you can't get what people generally refer to as Chicago Style pizza outside of Chicago. Just like you probably can't get a true New York style outside of New York.
ON the cheesesteak beef thing- I am not a fan of cheesesteak and they are two totally different things. If you get a good dipped Italian Beef from a local greek dive place like a Dengeo's in Skokie or a place like Portillo's you can't find something similar or comparable to it outside of chicago. Believe me I've tried. And while Philly may trump Chicago on Steak sandwiches- an Italian Beef is not a steak sandwich. That would be like saying a Gyro trumps a hamburger- different types of food- both good in their own right.
