I love this. I love the fact that Ikkaku is the one who is more afraid of it, even though he thinks Kira should be. You are wonderful, but what is new? It's good to see you around again; I've missed you! How have you been?

Love this-- and love the Gin reference. Kira has dealt with things much more dangerous than a Gin wanna-be lookalike snake. I like the hint of depth and unexpected strength that you give to Kira here, quite different from the usual emotionally shredded dope, while your Ikkaku's portrayed as too direct and uncomplicated to swim in those murky waters. No wonder Ikkaku's realized that Kira can be scary too.

Yes, I prefer the more cryptic and enigmatic Kira as opposed to the wimpy Kira myself.

*GASP* Firstly I have to think rozella_rising, because if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have seen your fic (I never come on LJ these days Dx). But OHH I loved this!! The Gin reference was gold. I liked how you made him the classic, evil-representing snake. I happen to be a fan of snakes xP Also I have to agree with another comment on your story, about Ikkaku being more afraid of the snake than Kira. I love that because people would automatically assume that Kira would be more afraid, simply because he's been protrayed as this timid, wide-eyed character. We all know there's more to our Izuru, though xD The boy can hold his own!!

Whew! I really was worried that you wouldn't see this because that would have totally bombed.

And yes! Our Izuru has a backbone (and a riding crop *wink*). I don't really like him as the wimpy, emo abandoned puppy he usually is in fanon so I decided to make him just a little cryptic. I'm glad it worked for you!

I love the imagery and how you characterise Gin with a snake ... clever and powerful on a simple level.

This fic has such a timeless simplicity and the reaction of Ikkaku is ... telling. I love the succinct style of prose - my favourite!

I like your Kira, given backbone and strength of character ... I get the impression that he has been mistreated but has come through it stronger i.e Niezsche's 'What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger' *aside* I got that from 'Conan The Barbarian.' It's a nice change from what we usually see of him ... cowed ... though I like this Kira enormously of course *grins* I like all Kira's!

I derived a lot of pleasure from reading this. This is going to sound weird but I found this really relaxing. Thanks for sharing.

And I like this cryptic Kira, too. I like it when the effects of Gin's betrayal on Izuru are subtle and not in-your-face. It makes Kira all the more lovely. ♥
