This is my theory: people who do not have to watch what they eat and can live on ultrarefined, hydrogenated crap without gaining one ounce are the next step in the evolution of Homo sapiens. It makes sense if you think about it. Natural selection simply means that individuals who happen, by chance, to possess genes which make them better adapted ( Read more... )

    Two thoughts.

  1. Evolution take millions of years, mutation upon mutation in order to properly create new (sub) spieces. "synthetic" food has been around for roughly 80+ years. So, it is at all possible that humanities rational and objective thinking; can transform the natural order of evolution? I mean it can, and is nessecery to, change the enviroment in ways we cant tell (global warming, raccons living in the strom drains, etc.) But, this is definatly a funny thought

  2. When will you be coming back to sacramento? I not hearing enough snide witty comments about people these days.

I read an article which turned out to be written by Nicholas Wade which said that researchers have done tests on both Japanese groups (who eat mainly rice, obviously) and indigenous Siberian groups (who subsist mostly on reindeer meat) and they found that the Japanese group produced significantly more of a particular enzyme which helps them digest starch than did the Siberian group. I'm not sure where I'm going with this, other than that the difference evolved relatively recently. I've forgotten my point.

well, sadly enough, i will be in sacramento on tuesday for a few days. Im going to be really busy trying to get some school stuff sorted out and i won't have a car (i'll have to borrow my brother's while he's a work) and, like I said, it will be only for three days. Im probably going to be around sac state on Wednesday and Thursday. I think friday I am going to babysit my nephew all day. If you are at sac state for class, maybe we could meet on campus for a bit, but since im only there for a few days i dont think ill be able to hang out any other time.

However, when I am in California for x-mas, I think I am going to be staying with my brother for a week or so between x-mas and new years, so I'll be around then.

I completely agree without. There is absolutely nothing like a crispy bacon sandwich. And bacon bits? I know they aren't even a meat product, but they still have all of that bacony deliciousness ( ... )

I notice a lot of the asian (vietnamese) women at my work have that gene. they eat tons of greasy, unhealthy fast food and they're bodies are like sticks!
Damn them. I think you're right. us natural fatties that haven't evolved are going to die off. unless i crush the skinny evolved ones with my ghetto booty...
yes! then it will be survival of the fittest (i.e. the biggest booty)
