I don't usually look at life in months. Months seem very arbitrary units of time, all told; lunar cycles make a rather satisfying amount of sense, but a month is simply a measurement of habit and convenience ( Read more... )

(Every time I read one of your entries, I think that if whenever you publish a book (or books) and I come to possess it, it will end up like my copy of Rilke's Letters to a Young Poet (or any of the books that mean the most to me): dogeared and worn and underlined several times over. Which is to say that you write splendidly.)

Any month that involves Muppet Treasure Island is a good month (& have you seen Muppet Christmas Carol?!); you know this to be true. -nods convincingly-

And now you've made me excited over S2 of Torchwood, and I shall have to make one audiobook tide me over until the 17th at least. -flails impatiently-

I've got difficulty with memories (and the concept of time) as well - things eb and flow in my mind with the whirl of the now, and I have trouble placing things in a specific time-frame - but it's one of the reasons I keep my journal: to have memories, stored and ready for recall in an outside database, as opposed to the messy jumble of time, space and past that exists in my mind.

(Yay, pointlessness!)

Completely agree with the first comment - am GREATLY looking forward to your first novel. I think it will be one of those ones like the Hitchhiker's Guide, or Catch-22 (or anything by Neil Gaiman?) which have a profound effect on their readers because they force them to stop and marvel at the magnificence of the English language at its best, and also at the bizarreness of the world around them. xxxx

I have a hard time remembering what happened when too; everything sort of melds together, unless I can figure out what goes with what event. *shrug*

Your dad has a fob watch? He is totally my new hero. ^-^

Squee! In general. I feel really bad that I haven't seen you anywhere near enough for the last... ages, may need to remedy this. =P And now my important question - what did you think of Sleeping in Flame?! I really wasn't sure about getting it for you, you should really read Land of Laughs first... but by the time I'd decided this, the bookshop had sold out of copies, so there you go. (And also, I agree with Phoebe. =D)
