i'll admit i was a little surprised when i heard you'd dropped out of college... but really, you just need to do what feels right. i kind of felt like you were only studying business because brad wanted you to, anyway. you need to take some time to figure out what you really want to do.

Maybe not even just Brad. Maybe me too. My dad was always like "Why don't you do music?" and I always told him that it wasn't a useful major and that business was a solid major to use.

i should let you read the essay i wrote in english, "what does education mean to me." my whole point was that most of what i have learned, that is truly important, has come outside of the classroom. granted, if my hopes of becoming a lab rat doing (possibly medical) research are ever to be accomplished i need to go to school, and study hard. it won't do me any good to apply for a job in a lab, if i can't work a bunsen burner. i think a lot of people believe though, that everything requires a degree if you're hoping to become a "professional". i don't think so. society puts so much emphasis on graduating from college, that everyone is doing it...despite the fact, that most of us have no clue why we're even in college, except that our guidance counselors told us to, and our parents are paying for it. i'm not saying that college is bad (it definitely CAN help), but having talent, common sense, and some decent work ethic will get you much farther.

I think my best... "supporter" of my life was my kewler than life english professor HannaH Dennis
HannH Or you might just need to search facebook to see her.

She also said how she hated that society creates this image that if you don't go to college you're going to end up on the streets. And that she knows people with advanced degree's who are struggling and knows some people who never went to college that build skateboard ramps out of their backyards and support there whole family well. I need to find out where I put some of those papers with her notes on them.

But when you really back up and thing about it its true. You could invent something, become a star, start up a business, anything! And be fine.

Right now what I'm doing I enjoy way more than anything I'd be doing at college. I'm learning so much its incredible. Learning stuff about what I want to do in life.

Sometimes it takes some time to figure out what you want to do. There's nothing wrong with that. :) It took me 6 years and three different majors to get my degree - and honestly, I don't love my work - I only stuck with school because I wanted more money - and that stupid piece of paper does get you more money, in most situations. My job just pays the bills.

So - don't let what other people tell you about not going to college = The End of the World. At the end of the day, you are the one who has to live in your life - however you choose to make it.

Besides, it isn't like you can't go back to school later if you decide you want to. People freak out for no reason sometimes.

Halloween is my favorite holiday too. :D I'm all excited, and it is only September...
