So, I've barely finished washing the fleece I bought a week ago - my FIRST raw fleece - and I'm already scouring ebay, google, and youtube for resources on making my own processing tools, cheap alpaca fleeces, and (this is my favorite) dyeing rovings and yarn with kool aid. Kool-Aid? Really? Wow, that's awesome. And the price probably beats the living hell out of madder and cochineal. When you get to this area and are therefore near enough by to be kidnapped to the War out here, I shall introduce you to a Very Nice Lady who sells woad... shortly after which you will suddenly have an entire wardrobe FULL of blue stuff. :D

Also: GOOD LUCK DEFENDING!!!! I -so- wish I could be there. If you want to send me any papers, I'm pretty sure my email address is public to friends on Facebook; if not, let me know and I'll give it to you. *crosses fingers for you*

By the way how was GW? I'm assuming you went, whether as a researcher or not...

Sorry I'm such a jerk and just now replying. GW was amazing. I brought and friend along and she had a good time too. We were only there for 3 days, but it was totally worth it.

I'll totally send you papers after I get the final version banged out (which will be after defending). Promise!

What in the heck is woad? Kool aid is super cheap and super amazing for dyeing on a budget. I'm totally in love with the drink again for the first time since I was eight, but for totally different reasons.

How've you been?
