I would say this is unbelievable, but it's Pat, so I believe it... unfortunately

"[H]ere he's at the point of death. He was dividing God's land, and I would say: Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the E.U., the United Nations, or the United States of America. haha. yeah, that's that laziness Chris was talking about. it's just like, i could write this huge essay about why Pat Robertson sucks so much and he should resign as soon as possible so that he no longer misrepresents our faith as a figurehead and all that... but why? there really isn't anything left to explain.

This was absolutely an incredibly stupid thing to say and such a bad time to say it.

However, in his defense, he did apologize later.
In a letter to the Israeli prime minister's son, Robertson asks "for your forgiveness and the forgiveness of the Israeli people" for remarks that he now realizes were "inappropriate and insensitive."

Pat Robertson is constantly saying insensitive, self-righteous, and arrogant things. And he always apologizes. However, if he were truly sorry, he would change his behavior. He's not sorry that he said this one, or the assassination threat on Hugo Chávez, or his and Jerry Falwell's remarks on 9/11. He's sorry that he got called on saying those things. He will continue to say things like this, and then apologize. That's not a real apology. Not an adult one, at least. That's the apology of a child, who knowingly disobeys his parent, expecting to apologize and be forgiven afterward. Pat should consult Psalm 51:

"The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." (NRSV, Ps 51:17)

And then he needs to consult American Heritage:
"con·trite adj.
1. Feeling regret and sorrow for one's sins or offenses; penitent."
(Amer. Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 4th ed.)

Free speech too far?"

Just something I thought you might be interested in reading. It's just a little article about this church group that protests at soldier funerals.

P.S. I dunno if the link will work.
