Nia Teppelin is the daughter of Lord Genome, the Spiral King and leader/creator of the Beastman. Not much is known about her past, only that her father forbade her from leaving the capital reasons being that the outside world is a dangerous place with dangerous beings. Before meeting Simon, her father, Lord Genome, was the only human she ever had contact with (though, she didn't know she and her father were called humans). Lord Genome wasn't very nice to Nia, since he often tells her that she is useless, good for nothing, and wonders why he even keeps her around.
In the series, Nia was discovered by Simon in a cap sole in an area that looked like a dump. Later, it is revealed that Nia was thrown away by her own father, the reason being that he no longer had interest in her and she was only a mere toy to keep him entertained, like the princesses before her.
Nia, however, is really an Anti-Spiral Messenger created by the Anti-Spirals who are set to destroy humankind. When the population reaches a million, the Anti-Spiral Messenger within her awakens and broadcasts the intention of the Human Extermination System, informing the world that the Moon will collide with the Earth. (Though, this actually doesn't actually happen until after episode 17 when she's a lot older.)

Nia's personality is very... unique. She's very innocent, curious and naive. She's never been outside, so she has a huge interest in learning about the world around her. She also stands up for what she believes is right, and will back up anyone in need of help.

Simon: When she met Simon, she knew right away there was something different about him. But at the same time she knew there was something wrong and it obviously had to do something with "Aniki". She comfort him with kindness, and since then they started talking. Later on she found out what "boyfriend" meant from Ruby. That was when she asked Simon if he was her boyfriend, and since that day they started going out. Not too long ago she confessed her feelings to him by telling him she loved him. ♥
Kamina: Simon's Aniki. Someone who's very important to Simon.
Yoko: Friend of Simon.
Viral: Works for her father.

Zexion: He was very first person she talked to when arriving here. And would count as a tutor so to say. If Nia doesn't understand something she goes ahead and asks. learned the words "marry" and "love" along with a few other words.

Pride: Became friends with him.
Greed: Told her how amazed he was at her for no panicking at the fact of her being in a different world.
Ruby: A good friend. Learned what dogs are from her. And that dragons have fur. Also told her what a boyfriend is. And was the one she learned that Santa and Frost spank children.
Nall: Talked to him once, is a friend of Ruby's and also a dragon. Set his puppy on fire.
Jack Frost: Knows him as the person who controls weather with magic, and also told her what a snowcone is. And was a bit afraid of him at first when she found out that he spanks people with Santa. But then learned it wasn't true.
Jim: Took her to the mall to buy shoes and winter gear. A good friend of hers.
Debitt: Person in need of a boyfriend.
Dark Link: Told her what a obnoxious repulsive bitch is. Oops.
Yuuko: Told her the word "yaoi" but won't tell her what it means since she's too young.
Bowser: Likes to sing and tries to scare her, but she doesn't understand his doings.
