Here's a little survey question for those of you who go to RIC:

How has RIC screwed you over lately?

I'm curious because it seems everyone who goes to RIC has some issue, such as having classes dropped because the bill which never came in the mail wasn't paid.

You should post this to the ricollege community.

There's a community? Gads, that sounds boring as hell.

Well, let's see...

I still can't get into the online stuff because my password isn't working and nobody ever returns my phone calls (because nobody's ever there when I try to get help with it).

I have no idea what my grades are from last semester because they didn't send them to me and, see above, can't frickin' get them online!

Oh, and any time I need help with anything the cow who's supposed to help me is at lunch. Do they ever do anything besides eat on that campus?!?

You would think eating is something they'd try to avoid.

I tried to register for spring semester and was told UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES was I to register because I owe the school 1800 dollars, somehow. Took 18, count them, 18 trips from office to office until i find out why. and now, i can't register for my Music classes because there isn't anymore room.

Unless you changed your RIC password, it should be the first three letters of your birth month (Ex. jan), your birth date (Ex. 05), and the last four digits of your Social Security number (Ex. 1234). Altogether, it would be jan051234.

Your username is your first initial, your last name, underscore, and the last for us digits of your RIC ID number. So, it would be something like jsmith_1234.

Other than that, best of luck with the various offices you have to harass to get logged in.

No, ESPECIALLY the Anchor office. They've been pretty shitty lately, and I'm still scared of bugs in the office.

My story has become fairly public knowledge and may appear in the RIC Anchor.

On January 3rd I received notification that $1400 worth of financial aid had been dropped from my account, because my parents live in North Carolina. Which means that the fall semester wasn't paid off, and which also means that the bill wasn't paid on time. Classes dropped! Thank you Bursar!

There's a long story that follows, but everything is fixed and I'm able to attend spring classes [although they weren't the ones I needed! ARGH! for the second time.]

I can only imagine the shit they must have given you at the bursar's.

My classes were dropped because I didn't pay the bill, which I never received. When I went to talk to them, I explained how I'd never gotten a bill and mentioned that I also never got any sort of warning notice that my classes would be dropped.

The lady replied that I shouldn't have needed a warning, because the due date was right on the bill. *slaps forehead*

RIC sucks in general. I have my own battle with the college, the mindless-soon-to-be-corporate-drones, the psuedo-free-thinkers, the people who still think black is a colour and it is suddenly trendy.

I was going to draft a list of people who should probably be barred from freely-expressing themselves, but then I realized the Patriot Act took care of that problem for me at one time or another.

I just want to graduate and move on with my life. I love you guys, though. Just a lot of people on the campus suck hardcore.

College is just an obstalce, monetarily and socially, before you can progress with your life.

And no offence to those who wear black! I was just tired of people in black clothing calling me thoughtless and unoriginal because I own clothes from American Eagle.

Gahr to you, RIC, a thousand Gahrs!

Well, you know, you're a conformist because you don't dress in all black...they do it to show how *different* they are...er, yeah.

Well, you know, it's much more original to buy black clothing from Hot Topic than it is to take an escalator up a floor and buy clothing from American Eagle. :)

And black can be a color. It's an absence of light, but where fabric is concerned black comes from dye just like all the other colors.
