Vegetarianism Healthier than Omnivorery?

I come up against this arguement constantly when talking to vegetarians and vegans saying it is healthier for not only the animals but yourself as well and the planet! And I have no doubt that other tenets of this community have come up against this but is this really true ( Read more... )

I love how they act like meat just "sits and rots in colons." Way to have no knowledge of the human digestive system!

Also, they think they are healthier because of the constant bombardment that saturated fat is bad for you, which I have done a ton of research on and believe is false.

I just want to hand all these people a copy of The Vegetarian Myth by Lierre Keith but I know most would not accept it. Grrrr...

Vegan: Vegan diets are totally healthy and natural! Just make sure you take your supplements!!!

Um, if you have to take an arsenal of supplements just so your hair doesn't fall out, I'm pretty sure you're not eating what humans are meant to eat.

Oh vegans and their supplements. Without modern technology, they would of died of nutrient deficiencies.

I can and do consume raw meat. raw ground beef, raw pork sausage. mmmm... I also love sushi (surprise?)
