Gave PETA credit? Yes, because Temple Grandin had nothing to do with revolutionizing the way we slaughter animals with the cunning insight that made it better for both farmers and the animals involved. PETA has done nothing to slaughter industry except get labeled a domestic terrorist by the USDA and Homeland Security.
And the ignorance about slaughter in those comments is staggering. I was a USDA Food Inspector intern for the FSIS, I have seen chicken to chicken nugget and know all the regulations too, most of what is said is complete bullshit and these people know nothing about USDA regulations.
They said it was because of groups like peta advocating for better treatment of animals that more facilities are using the temple gradin system. Then they said too bad she doesn't work with the poultry industry. Oprah said something about how she respected the animals a little better after viewing the footage of the slaughter house. Then the vegan chick spoke up about how it bothered her, because it was taking lives. Orpah & her other guest speaker shut her up, and said they weren't going to stop eating meat because of it

Same way up in here in michigan, with the excepetion of a couple of dairy, and hog farms. Everything else is out in nice big fields. There is one dairy in my area that takes good care of their cows, and calves, even though its a high tech one. Used to go the campground located next to it. The buildings are kept opened up in the summer. You can see inside of them from the road. Animals, look well fed and happy. Calves look like they have plenty of room to move around in their pens.
