Today was a bad day. I got laid off from my job I've been at for over a year and a half. Jim, my boss, left a very long message on my phone starting out how he had been trying very hard to get ahold of me. He had in fact called me a few times, but had not left any messages. Have an essay to write by 4pm tomorrow, no luck of sleep in sight, but I wanted to say this: You are wonderful and you'll find a job that better suits you. Get another drink tonight and focus on sleeping well. Try finding something next Tuesday.

Thank you, it means a lot to hear someone say that. I've been spending the past two days feeling worthless because of what happened. I know I didn't do anything wrong, but I still can't shake the "why me" feeling.

I'd honestly love to work in a bookstore, but times like things one can't be picky. Spring break starts next Thursday - the first thing I'll do is apply to a pizza place around campus (they've been hiring for many months now).

Oh, I got your message awhile ago that you'll be in Phoenix..April 8th, I think? Phoenix is about a two hour drive away, so I can certainly make it out there as long as it isn't a day I have class. Let me know.

8-11. Actually, we'll be arriving late on the 7th, and leaving late on the 11th. So, from Wednesday to Friday, we need to totally eat together.

I'd say come to the event (NCECA), but a day pass is kind of ridiculous. I think it costs around $65-80 on certain days. OUCH. So unless you absolutely love the notion of a bunch of old arts people talking about the education of ceramics, I'd probably say don't bother. (I, however, am becoming a huge nerd on the idea.)

I don't know the ins and outs of my group's plan, but I'll update you as soon as we talk. BACK TO GOVERNMENT BAILOUT FUN.

I only have one class on Thursday and Friday mornings, so either one of those days would work. Keep me updated, and eat we totally will.

Sorry to hear all this. A lot of people that I know have been getting laid off as well. Its such a crappy year for everyone..

I can only keep looking out for a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
