STEVE SNUB (A HO-HUM NBA POST)

Feb 04, 2009 00:37

Surprisingly, no one has extensively picked up on the Steve Nash All-Star snub angle yet. Here’s a player not chosen to the midseason spectacle just two seasons after winning his second straight MVP award. Yes, just two seasons. Even Laguna Beach aired for three seasons. Unfortunately, Nash is now the second fastest former MVP to be left out of the ( Read more... )

> What makes the Nash snub striking though is that he was unceremoniously excluded from the All-Star Game.

This sentence makes no sense at all. It boils down to, "What is unusual about Nash not making the All-Star Game is that he didn't make the All-Star Game."

Lame article. No one expected Nash to be an All-Star this year. He's getting old, he doesn't do things as well as he used to, and he's now playing in a system that doesn't feature him. You'd be hard-pressed to find any knowledgable NBA observer who thinks he was "snubbed."

This is not solely about Nash being snubbed, it is about how fast a two-time MVP gets left out in the All-Star Game. This is to put into perspective that even multiple MVPs winners in the NBA can be overshadowed in a snap. Thus the comparisons with other former MVPs.

We all know that he isn't the same as he was two seasons ago, if you read carefully, I never stated that he SHOULD be in the All-Star Game. I don't think he should be in it, what I'm trying to convey is the unfortunate footnote in Nash's career that he couldn't get himself to the ASG just two seasons after ruling the NBA.

Kumabaga, 'di man lang nasama si Nash kahit as sympathy vote or out of respect sa two-time MVP.

Sya nga lang ata yung two-time MVP na di nakasali sa All-Star, two years pagkatapos nya mag-back to back
