Picture 123 is Dave Kyle. He's wearing his First Fandom jacket. You had to be active in fandom before the first Worldcon to qualify. Someone's even put him in wikipedia, and a few of his fanzine articles are online.
I also ran into another Worldcon picture of him with Roger Sims. The doll on the right is Phyllis Eisenstein, and the one in the middle is me.

By the way, I'm pretty sure the woman you called Neil's assistant is Anne Murphy, who was "Guest of Honor Liaison", which is sort of like personal assistant to a GoH. She's done Neil before, and wrote the book on “Neil handling”. (Neil's full-time personal assistant back in Minneapolis is The Fabulous Lorraine.)

& incidentally, although he's been really sick lately, Joe Haldeman put in his time as a champion partyer. I even know stories about him which can be repeated in public!
