Heavy Metal

I don't get it. Is heavy metal this awesome heavy deal where everyone gets sweaty and happy and angry and has a good time? Is it just more noisy shit for noisy morons who don't dig ICP? Is it pretty much punk except two years later?

Please someone explain heavy metal to me.

Heavy Metal is called such because the predominant sound in the mix is metal, and the bass clef is very heavy. It sounds heavy. There's your mim history lesson, which you probably already knew. As for the anger and screaming....Heavy Metal is not the only genre with that element. If you want to hear some "good" metal, ask your dad about it.
(I don't like it, either. But I really dig morons.)
