I had a really similar experience eating pizza last week. It was awful pizza at some work event, and I felt obliged to do it, but it came right back up as my body wouldn't handle it. I love pizza, but when I make it at home I use pesto instead of tomato sauce and either sliced mozzarella balls or feta or really minimal cheese, and it feels like "good" pizza (I also make my own crust.)
Anyhow, it's amazing how the body works. You keep it up!
