my two cents about PoA (spoiler free i think)

w00t! i saw it today. it was by far the best of the three, thanks to mr alfonso curan i imagine. very dark and spooky and mysterious- unlike the first two which were light and cheerful and.. two dimentional. even the acting was somewhat less bad. i still hate how the charactors are portrayed- hermione took all of ron's lines that gave him any ( Read more... )

agreed on most points. i didn't like that they were all wearing muggle clothing because they all make such a big deal about it in the fourth book. i didn't like the way hermione was portrayed--WAY too sporty. what was that punch for? it was fun, but seriously. NOT hermione--RON. they need to make him a little tougher. he's the one that's always swearing and ranting, for crying out loud. i didn't like the actor that played lupin, nor really how they portrayed him. he was nicer in the book, less teacher like. but i didn't mind the werewolf...it didn't look very realistic, but in old egyptian drawings they portrayed werewolfs to stand on their hind legs like that and crap. i was upset that they didn't even mention the moony prongs padfoot and wormtail thing--that they made the map and all, b/c then you didn't know why harry conjured the stag. and when harry conjured the patronus, it was just a white light--only once did they show it was a stag. plus they put the firebolt at the end of the movie instead of the beginning, although that ( ... )

well, i can tell you right now it won't be the same direct for goblet of fire- that's gonna be a guy named mike newell (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001565/). honestly i don't know anything about him except that he directed four weddings and a funeral and mona lisa smile (nark?). so i'm not sure.. we'll see how that works out.

in their defense.. i'm sure it's very difficult to make an adapation of such a popular book with the hp and non-hp fans in mind. sometimes any sub plots that digress from the main story (and consequently slow down the developement of the movie) are just best taken out.

but yeah.. i def agree with out on the other points. mostly with the whole ron thing. poor ron.

so yeah.. when the hell are you done with school, yo?
