Previously, I mentioned these guys:
Evgeny Plushenko[!] ~ He's back! Yay! Tall Russian figure skater who's a lot of fun. You should check out his "Sex Bomb" exhibition routine. Yes, it is as advertised.
Brian Joubert ~ Ah, the shirtless Frenchman.
Evan Lysacek ~ An American? I know! I saw him skate when the Nationals were in Portland and he had great presence on the ice.
Stephane Lambiel ~ Uh, to be honest, I enjoyed his Torino exhibition performance and that's all I really remember. The Swiss are great spinners.
Yu-na Kim~ The only lady I could recognized and that I like. Forget Sasha Cohen, I'm looking forward to watching Yu-Na skate!
Still insanely excited that Evegeny Plushenko is back, so he's the one I'm rooting for the most. I also watched the little preview that NBC had before the Opening Ceremonies, and I'm adding these skaters to my list:
Mirai Nagasu ~ Holy crap, this skater is from Arcadia,Ca! Woo, hoping she does well enough so I can see here skate! [Arcadia is two cities over from where I grew up, known also as "ArcAsia" because of how many Asians there are here.]
Patrick Chan ~ Canadian skater that NBC had a quick blurb on...he looks interesting! And he's Chinese-Canadian. I had to explain to Art why this was surprising to me: how many Asian-immigrant parents would promote their son's figure skating interests? Sure, you see lots of girls, but I can't think any guys. "What do you mean you want to do something other than play the violin/compete in the Math Olympiad/learn Martial Arts/swim/play soccer/play video games?"
Bring it on!
