I'm convinced that all banks, credit card companies, (hell, all financial institutions) have a department in charge of bogus fees.

The employees of this underground department specialize in making these (seemingly insignificant) charges appear on every clients statement at least a few times a year.

They (big-time, corporate money-grubby, companies) bank on (no pun intended) us weary consumers not catching the errors. Those that don't - far surpass those that do. This of course, accounts for millions of dollars in profit, lining the pockets of the corporate assholes we trust with our money.

The alternative, is far too scary a notion for any of us to face.

How could we possibly go back to cash only transactions?

I am surprised you were able to have the charge removed.

If it were me, I'm sure the person in charge of making the final decision would have been out of the office until Monday. : )
