what's unfortunate is that there's at least one example of the fandom being idiots here on lj that i've seen, which is why i'm so paranoid.

IT REALLY IS

believe me, normally i don't have the patience for most fmvs, but sometimes i come across gems like this. not to mention the editor has made quite a few of my favorites.

I've seen this show! I enjoyed it, primarily because it felt like seinen equivalent to a shoujo I love, Princess Tutu - both are rather short magical girl anime alluding to and inspired by german literature and folklore, in which magical girlism comes with a price and their mentors... yea.
I actually like to use this amv to get other people to watch it, even though it has more spoilers than a garage full of Plymouth Superbirds. I'm sad to hear that douchebags bullied her out of the fandom. I've...actually not interacted with fandom much. I'll try to keep it that way, I guess.

The best AMVs always increase the emotional effect of the scenes. It's good that she's been able to overcome the haters! And heh, I think I might have gotten into princess tutu via the same AMV. "Hold Me Now"/"Hall Om Mig", right?

I've seen haters on Tumblr, and...honestly, I can see why they've come to hate the series, because the fandom's mindless raving about it/reluctance to admit its flaws/bashing of previous magical girls series and ignoring their accomplishments in the genre...gives the show itself a bad name. The fans never seem to realize that overhyping a series in an immature and hyperbolic way tends to lower people's expectations of it.

Shame. I'd like more sane people to discuss the series with, but it seems all my fandoms are doomed to be inactive, utterly batshit, or both.
