Well, this past weekend certainly was interesting. "Leave, Hurry"? [ he chuckles derisively. ] It sounded like nothing more than a childish prank from someone with nothing better to do. Still, I will admit that it was a troubling predicament-- and somehow, I don't believe we've heard the end of those strange creatures that appeared those nights ( Read more... )

"Interesting" may not be a way to describe it for me, but that is one way of placing it, my boy. As for why, I am not quite sure. I have heard rumors of this being a "glitch" in this video game though.

Ah, and you are interested in obtaining an egg from a Pokemon? Claire is a breeder, so she may know more about this matter.

May I ask why you wish to know?

A "glitch"? That's a flippant way of putting it. Though I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "video game", Professor.

[ this next part causes him to blanch inwardly, though he doesn't let it show. okay. this is a good excuse to talk to claire, anyway. ]

I've been doing a bit of research on the different types of Pokemon. It appears that some are not available for capture, and that the only way to obtain one is through breeding.

I'll be sure to speak with Claire when I next have the opportunity. Thank you, Professor.

Hm, well, "video games" are apparently these devices in the future that allow you to play games where you take control of a "hero" and go onto an adventure. I am actually not too sure about them actually.

[Gotta go ask Kaito or someone more about this or something.]

Ah, is that so? I have not heard of this. Perhaps we should look around if someone may be willing to breed us a Pokemon then.

Pokemon can breed?

[She looks over at Sneasel who looks away quickly. He doesn't want her to get any ideas]

Apparently so. From what I've heard, they can be bred particularly for certain battle qualities.

... Unfortunately, that's all I can tell you. My knowledge on the subject is limited.

It's certainly something worth looking into~

Though, it shouldn't be too surprising. In the end, no matter how smart they are, Pokemon are still animals.

[ooc: Sorry for the delete!]

I suppose you could look at it that way, though I don't think it's a matter of intelligence. After all, humans breed as well, if in a... different way.

[ ooc: no worries! ]

I-I saw a dinosaur skeleton that night! Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine! And everything looked really weird too!!

Yes, I think I saw something similar-- it was frightening, wasn't it?

... Still, a gentleman must remember to always keeps his head in a crisis. Isn't that right? [ oh so subtle gibe at you, little luke. ]

O-of course! I wasn't worried at all about some silly skeleton! [Lies.]

Of course not. [ he laughs slightly, pursuing the joke: ] And I suppose that screaming you did was just another indication of your astounding bravery?

Fertilised, if at all possible. I'm not so interested in breakfast.

Ah! You meant breeding to hatch them.

I heard that cross-species breeding is pretty normal- but you don't get cat-dogs or turtle-horses out of it.

Probably either whatever made everything act screwy, the ghosts, or the missingno themselves.

In any case, it's not like we have a choice about leaving or not.

Yes, which leads me to assume that this is either a "glitch", as was mentioned before, or some sort of ridiculous prank.

A glitch? Like the world breaking theory? Why tell us to get out then?

And there's the puzzle that has me stumped-- though I'm sceptical. Potentially, anyone could have sent that message. The unfortunate part of this mystery is that that warning could be completely unrelated to the sudden change in this world.
