Yes Merry Christmyth. Myth is so what Christmas is about. Way back Romans at this time of year celebrated the Saturnalia which I read was a wonderful celebration in the middle of winter. I guess Christians decided to make it their own and transformed it into Christmas (sort of like the Jews turning Chanukah into an important festivity for their children at this time of year as it really isn't a major Jewish holiday). If the religious actually read the NT they would find no mention of him being born on December 25th - the closest you get is, I think in Luke, where it's mentioned that the shepherds were out watching their flocks by night which generally happens in the lambing season in the springtime ( ... )
