Yeah, so I tried duck hunting this morning. Let me tell you, I was stoked! I've never done it before and everyone who I've ever talked about it to that has done it just absolutely loves it. It is the great tragedy of our time that you keep your writings to yourself and a small circle of friends. You should send 3 or 4 of these clippings to the Pensacola News-Journal (Mullet Wrapper), Saturday Evening Post or the Atlantic. You are one of the undiscovered great writers of our time.

I've read that Novelists of old would publish their books first as a series of articles in major papers. I've read that when the next installment came out families would sit together as the father read the stories aloud for everyone's enjoyment. You are this sort of writer.

I read one paragraph of your post and went to get Meghan so we could share the reading of it together. We laughed about the unducks, we cackled when you discover that other duck hunter's have guns and "TINY LITTLE FRIGGIN' BRAINS!!!!" We experienced your story together ( ... )

Well, dang, Tom. His spelling sucks swamp water. And he uses irony way too much. No, he needs to polish his stuff up before he expects some suit-clad desk type to respect it. And you know the suit's gonna be some tree huggin' PETA freak who'll poke a hole in his canoe anyhow. And, as his Mom, I think he ought to be out their buying me turtles, dammit.
