I'd love to *see* people walking the red carpet, but the interviews they have doing it these days make me stabby. The inane questions, the offensive questions, the feet in the mouth ... I can't handle it. I want to hear, "who are you wearing?" and "who are you excited about seeing?" and that's about it. It's not that I care who they are wearing, mind you -- it's just the appropriate question for the time
( ... )
I only watched about 20 minutes of the red carpet - the timing is so off to watch it here unless you plan a "proper" night - and it was really boring, but it could have had something to do with the transalations maybe I must admit. Extraordinarily for the first time in years I'd seen several of the movies (though not, as you might know, The Kings Speech, but have prommised to see it if it comes in English)
I did go to a rather nice night at my favorite bar to celebrate the Oscars they showed the dvd of Streetcar Named Desire, which I LOVE. Used to have the video back when, and a nice guy I meet loaned me Night of the Iguana, so it was a celebratory night anyway :=)
Funny you mention that -- I was just thinking last night that that would be one difficult movie to dub in other languages! I haven't seen it yet either. I really want to, but am waiting for DVD rental.
LOL! He's really fabulous, isn't he? And I loved the director's comment about the movie! His mom saw a reading of the play, and told him that should be his next movie. The moral of the story? "listen to your mum" LOVE!
I guess the good thing about your theatre is that they realized, "oh, this won a lot of awards - we could probably make money running it longer" :) So you get to see it again!

That picture IS scary (funny thing is when she sang, she wore BRIGHT, TRUE RED), but I forgive her because she's an "edgy" musician :)

Me too!
And me too! He creeped us out. And was onstage too long. I tried to watch part of it, but finally fast-forwarded. It was too weird.
