I'm assuming they used midazolam, which is usually the anesthetic of choice when amnesia is desirable. They used to use it quite a lot during cesareans, then stopped because obviously that is a situation where amnesia is _not_ desirable.

I'm glad the blockage has passed but jeez, what a damned misery to deal with in the meantime. :( And also glad there's no signs of serious illness such as cancer or Crohn's; it's always frightening when waiting for test results when things like that are on the table.

I hope they find a cause soon.
