Can they not fix the hernia?

My sister has GERD (something since the Lupus. Might have been from the steroids) and prilosec is the MAGIC pill.

They can fix them, but they do it only if it's really, really big and painful. This is really just an annoyance for me- it's not very painful. Many times people end up with them again even after surgery. It's the not eating certain things that angers me the most.

I'll probably start the Prilosec today. So it really does help? How much is it since it's OTC now?

it is pricey, so look for deals. I bought her a box of 42 tabs for $30 at CVS. It is however worth it. Nothing else has worked for her like this has. Because of GERD, she has lost sleep, been unable to enjoy whole days, cancelled plans. It is incredibly painful and uncomfortable.

Luckily, she doesn't have to take it that often anymore and this box will last her a while.

I had never even had heartburn until this year. Holy crap! That was horrible. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I cannot imagine it being worse AND often. If you do your pharmacy and other shopping at CVS, you will get free dollars every month and put it toward your purple pill purchase.

Sounds like she could be one of the few candidates for surgery.

So Prilosec is that purple pill, huh? Great. I hated those commercials.
I'm going to check Wally World for their prices. As much as going there aggravates me, I can go there and pretty much get everything I need in one place. I hate shopping. Amazing fact, I know.

It's not that bad really, just an inconvenience. Just more GI retardation to add to the list.

"What did she die from?"
Me.

"Also, when you get better you open The Happy Goat Fabric Store, yes no?"
No. The Happy Goat Fabric Store?

No tomato-based foods? That's a real bummer, Anton!
You can eat meat though right? Like chicken? Or fish?

Once my intestines get back to normal I can. Any meat I eat right now makes me suffer terribly.

I'm not too worried about the food. The hiatal hernia is more of an annoyance than anything. Hopefully taking the Prilosec will allow me to better tolerate these "avoidance" foods.
