well done to the b's

Hate to see my Bolts lose (Marty's face! It hurts my heart to see my favorite Eastern teeny winger unhappy!), but I can't be too sad about seeing Timmy Thomas hopping all over the ice with joy. That was pretty damn awesome. The whole game was pretty damn awesome, actually.

I have a huge soft spot for Timmy (and also a story that I now feel I can't complete until the Finals are over, because there are lines of superstition than one doesn't fucking cross), so I can't say that I was unhappy to see the Bruins win. That's the trouble with liking both teams in a high-stakes match (and especially with liking players who are key to their teams in that high-stakes match): you inevitably end up with mixed feelings. I really would have loved for the Bolts to kick ass, for sweet Marty and desperate Vinny and Stammer who wants Cup glory so badly that it bleeds through in every interview he does, and for Teddy who is secretly awesome and Nate who is quietly effective and Sean who deserves better and Hedder who is a bit fragile and emotional and so fucking young for his responsibility as a huge tough defenseman in this league. Oh my Bolts. I really am sad to see this happen to them, because they deserved fucking better ( ... )

it was a great game. I am going to miss the Bruins. I can't believe that Marty St. Louis cried. Now I gotta write a series ending playoffs for the Bolts

Marty! *sniffle* For me, if there's anyone who deserves a Cup for sheer heart and effort every fucking game of the season, Marty is that man. He's pretty much the embodiment of the motto 'Every fucking shift'. He may not be the biggest or the heaviest or the fastest or have the softest hands, but damned if he doesn't compete his heart out every single shift he's on the ice. That's why I love that they've paired him with Stammer often: that sort of effort is a thing that Stammer can only benefit from. Marty's out there not only being a warrior, but crafting warriors for his team as well. I seriously adore him.

Look: I have a soft spot for Boston's goalies. Timmy and Tuukka are amazing and fantastic and I love them. But Marty! and Stammer! and Vinny! and Teddy and Sean and Marcus and Downers and ugh. I'm going to miss my Bolts. Good news is, I don't think they need to move much over the offseason. Gagne is iffy on return, but a whole lot of the important pieces will still be there. That's reassuring to know.

I am going to miss them too. This team will stick together. I can't wait for next year. Would you read the Bolts series if I wrote one.

This series was awesome! The Bruins were my team, but I almost wish there was a way for BOTH of them to win (I know, I know, that would make it all pointless). The Lightning played their HEARTS out. But yeah - overjoyed Timmy is something of a cure-all, right? ;)

Not much more that one can ask than a Game Seven that goes scoreless until the last ten minutes. Playoff hockey. Nothing like it in all of sports, and I love it.

Yeah, hate to see my Bolts lose, but ecstatic Timmy cures a whole lot of ills. God, he couldn't be any more adorable if tried cuddling kittens in his post-game interviews. (Actually, that's a lie. If he ever cuddles a kitten in a post-game interview, I will spontaneously combust and that will be the end of me.)

Word. The Bruins are probably my second fave team in the east so I was rooting for them, but that was a hell of a game and I'd have been content with a Tampa win if it'd come to be. Poor Marty though, he looked so sad. I love how he told Timmy to go all the way though. That was so sweet!
