Author's Note: Ho-ly crap. So, this was my first time entering the Big Bang (or Mini-Bang, in my case) Challenge, and I'm totally stoked that I got to be a part of it. I think that this actually wanted to be a much bigger story, but then Real Life sort of smacked me in the face really hard and I wasn't able to give it the attention it deserved. All the same, I'm proud of myself for actually finishing a story, and not flaking out at the last minute. I'm also grateful that I got to meet my wonderful artist, mycolour, who is very talented, and I feel super lucky to have. I owe a great deal of thanks to Beta, who, well, beta'd my story for me, and to Canix, who encouraged me to get it written, and supported me through all my breakdowns during the writing process. On a final note, the title is from the song 'Big Machine' by the Goo Goo Dolls, since I listened to it on repeat a lot while I was writing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the story, and if not, at least appreciate the beautiful art that goes with it
