i should remind myself that being a hermit and never leaving my house aside from work is a good thing. placing stock in other people with regards to trust, goodwill, and an overall feeling of comradere(sp?) isn't really a good thing, and that most of the time, people aren't worth wasting my time on ( Read more... )

Interesting philosophy... I'd rather place my trust in others and have it broken than miss-out on so much because I don't trust anyone, but I'm familiar with the qualities of solitude; I hope you achieve what you set out to achieve.

Is being a douchebag really an effective form of revenge though? There's gotta be a better way... One that actually exacts revenge without making you look like a douchebag ;)

You and I both know that acting like a hermit is not the most effective way to live your life. As far as placing stock in others being a waste of time, well thats just not true. You simply have to be more careful as to who you place your trust, goodwill, etc. Ensure that they are who and what you need in your life. Don't give up on everyone because some people and relationships have failed you. It's not realistic or healthy.
