Yeah, you don't need to see IV. Guh. I heard that the new Superman movie is actually supposed to acknowledge the events of the first and second movies, which i find interesting (especially since that means they're going Orwellian with the last two movies and rewriting history by erasing them from continuity, and wisely so).
I wasn't aware that Richard Donner directed THAT much of Superman II, though. I had thought it was just a few scenes here and there. That's crazy!
why are all these great movies being remade? Why? why? why? I personally think itll be crucified. Anytime I have ever seen a remake it just doesnt have the same umpf that the originals have. I think if they ever remade a movie like Easy Rider or any Polanski or Kubrick film, I will probably never spend another dime on cinema. Then again I guess I will just have to wait and see how this Superman comes out. Dun Dun Dunnnnnnnnnnnnn.
This one is more of a re-cut than a remake, so I don't know how drastic it will be. I'm holding off judgement, because I personally love Superman II. I love Zod, I lov the comic relief that is involved in most of the early Lex Luthor plot, I think the Clark/Superman/Lois Lane love triangle is at it's most charming and believable....

Supermans? Supermen?
Ew, do we really need Superman IV on DVD? That one's even worse than Batman and Robin.

I actually have never seen Superman 4, but I did read the comic adaptation and that was bad enough.
