When I watched Captain America - The First Avenger for the first time, both I and husband fell asleep at some point of the movie. I saw enough to know Steve's backstory and who is who and how life royally screwed him up, but I missed some details and even characters. Like Bucky Barnes. /he is nowhere close to that guy we saw at the start of the film. His appearance is messed up, he looks raw, hungry and dark, his facial expressions and body language have changed/ - OMG, I didn't think of that! o_O

Entire thing in that bar scene is very subtle. The main focus are Steve and Peggy, of course, and the fact that peggy put on that dress and she went straight to Steve who is the star of the show. And Bucky is just a horrible mess more or less in the background,a nd if you don't pay close attention to *him* all you'd notice is that he got rejected in favor of Steve (yay Steve?). But when you do pay attention, you can clearly see the shift. That's simply not the same man, he's just not the ladies man he used to be, and he's so raw and hurt and openly hungry there, it's really uncomfortable. And the serum, you just gotta wonder how its affecting him (assuming that he was given a serum). Was it similar to Erskine's only ended up maximizing bad things about the person? Was it simply a catalyst in making Bucky unstable (because he didn't turn evil, but he did turn unstable and shakey). The friendship with Steve is pretty much all he's got left, along with the opportunity and ability to fight. He adapts but the cost is high

BUCKY, BUCKY, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKY, poor boy. I just hope they don't do what the comics did, where Bucky regains his memories, and then vanishes and spends a while by himself, being a loose cannon. Resolution would be niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I hope they don't make him just vanish. That would be so so sooooo bad for him. :((((( I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that MCU continues to be smarter than lot of things in the comics.

Whoo Hoo! MCU meta for the win!

1) I'm adding this to my LJ Memories because it's just fucking brilliant.

2) OMG BUCKY!!!! Seriously, after IM3, Winter Soldier is the other film in Phase 2 that I am most looking forward to, and a big part of that is Bucky and the dynamic between Steve and Bucky, Natasha and Bucky, and how it's all going to play out. I've been really happy so far with how the MCU has reimagined many of these famous comic characters and stories for the better, not making some of the mistakes that the comics did, so I'm hopeful that Winter Soldier will kick as much ass at taking the story to the next level as IM3 did.

I'm so excited! *grabs Anuna's hands and happy dances in a circle* :D
